Born and raised in Cleveland, OH, Strasser has been part of Southern Arizona’s blues scene for more than 25 years.

He was an original member (along with ABHOF Steve Grams) of L Mondo Combo, the first Tucson band to regularly play blues. In the 1980s John was also an original member of George Hawke’s Los Lasers, Arizona’s premier roadhouse band. And he played many years with Boogieman Blues Band with ABHOF Tom Walker.

A singer and songwriter, Strasser plays saxophone, harmonica and slide guitar. He currently plays with Buzzard Luck. Buzzard Luck, the 2000 Arizona Blues Showdown runner-up, recently appeared at the Junebug Festival.

John released a solo EP before coming to Tucson, and Buzzard Luck’s self-produced CD “Good Luck” is due next month
