Monterey Court

Begun in 2011 by a couple of musician entrepreneurs, Monterey Court is a historic Motor Court transformed into a
restaurant /bar/ and live music venue that has seen over 4000 shows since it’s inception. As avid supporters of the blues,
the court has hosted numerous award winning blues acts throughout the years, and been a community supporter of , and
hosting events by the South- ern Arizona Blues Heritage Foundation, the annual Youth Blues Showcase, as well as
memo- rials for several blues greats Tucson has lost over the years. They continue to bring in national acts including Bob
Corritore & Juke Joint Blues, Nikki Crawford, Kelli Baker, Terry Hanck, Shari Puorto, Johnny Rawls, Alastair Green,
Harpdog Brown, Carla Cooke, Jackie Venson, Dennis Jones, Jimmy Carpenter, Dirty Red & the Soul Shakers and many
more. They have been instrumental in keeping the blues alive for the local community as well., hosting live music as soon
as was practical after Covid restrictions were lifted, and continue to showcase local acts on a regular basis. We are
honored to be nominated for this award, and look forward to many more years of hosting the blues.
